Taymara Activities |
These activities, provided by the Maritime Volunteer Service, will concentrate on achievable objectives for the clients involved, whether at a basic level of competent boat driving or at a more advanced level such as the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) powerboat qualifications. On the way to these achievements the clients will learn about heritage, wildlife and other strands relating to the river and sea, which will give them a new and positive perspective on their lives. |
Candidates will progress to larger boats, including Badger and Marigot (illustrated). |
Smaller vessels such as rigid inflatable boats are used for basic training. These provide practice in all the required skills. |
The emphasis is on enjoying the experience, although we can’t always guarantee a calm sunny day! |
History, wildlife and environmental issues affecting the Tay will all be taught during the course of Taymara. |
